Legendary UW-Green Bay men’s basketball coach Dick Bennett spent some time at UWGB recently. The Phoenix Hall of Famer and current head coach Brian Wardle discussed a variety of topics, including Bennett’s recent visit with the men’s and women’s basketball staffs, the history of the program and the task of building a program and creating an identity. Join fellow UW-Green Bay alumni at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Centercourt Pub & Grille in Milwaukee to get fired up for the big game as the Phoenix men take on rival UWM.
Bring friends and family. There is no charge — simply RSVP via e-mail to alumni@uwgb.edu with “BB pre-game” in the subject line.

Always entertaining, is the intra-state rivalry between the Phoenix and the Milwaukee Panthers. Before heading to big game, Jan. 8, join fellow alums for a reception from 5-6:30 p.m. at The Bar on Holmgren Way in the patio room.
Then, head to the Resch Center and watch the rivalry between UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee men. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. For ticket information, click here.
The Phoenix men’s soccer team won the Horizon League and receives an NCAA bid for the second straight year… Phoenix men’s basketball coach Brian Wardle “steals” a couple of recruits… the Phoenix women’s basketball team is picked to win the Horizon League, again.

The schedules are out for the 2010-11 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.
The men will kick off at home against Minnesota Duluth at the Kress Center on Nov. 13. The women face Bucky and the rest of the Badgers for their regular-season opener at the Kress Center on Nov. 18. Get ready for an exciting season!
