Bell Ringing Alumni Challenge

Bell RingingWe, UW-Green Bay alumni, have been given a challenge to defeat St. Norbert and NWTC alumni at the annual Bell Ringing Alumni Challenge on Saturday, December 8 from noon to 2 p.m. in Bay Park Square Mall.

We are looking for volunteers who know how to ring bells and show holiday cheer and/or school spirit to help us win!!! Bring your family. Bring your friends. Just be there! We promise it will be fun.

Alumni Spotlight – Dr. Lisa Shefchik

Hello UW-Green Bay Alumni!  This week we are featuring a young doctor who received her undergrad from UWGB.  Is there any career we alumni don’t work in…we think not. 

Name and Grad Year: Lisa R. Shefchik ’02
Major: Human Biology with Health Emphasis
Favorite Professor(s): Angela Bauer, Brian Merkel, Debra Pearson and others.  Lisa really liked the faculty at UWGB!
Employment: Chiropractor at Shefchik Chiropractic
Family: Married to Jeff Shefchik.  Two girls Payton(5) and Miah (4) with baby #3 due any day.
Hobbies: Softball, wakeboarding, gardening, and spending time with family.
Volunteer Interests: Anything with kids.
Something you don’t know about Lisa: She has a new found love for landscaping!  She LOVES looking at all the plants and shrubs!

This week we spotlight an alum who earned his degree through our Adult Degree program.  Kudos to Bryan for not only attending college during a very busy time in his life but for also knocking it out of the park and graduating Summa Cum Laude!  Meet Bryan Anker…

Major: Interdisciplinary Studies – Emphasis on Business
Minor: Business Administration
Favorite Professor(s): Vicky Medland, Forrest Brooks
Employment: District Manager at Kraft Foods/ Nabisco (14 years)
Family: Spouse – Tina (20 yr anniversary in December), 2 daughters – Nikki (Sophomore at UWGB) and Alyssa (Freshman at Shawano High School)
Hobbies: I love archery, playing guitar, reading, and hanging out at the cabin
Volunteer Interests: I support Paul’s Pantry and Old Dogs that Care (Military Support Group)
Something you don’t know about Bryan: I was in the Marine Corps Reserves 1986-93 – Rank of Sergeant (E-5). Also, I still hold a Shawano High School track record in 300 meter intermediate hurdles (26 years and counting)!

Family: Husband – Nick Arlt & adorable French Bulldog/Pug mix – Jobs

CANCELLED: Jan 12 – Alumni Association Hosts Men’s Basketball Event


Notice: This event has been cancelled do to the Packers playoff game this Saturday

The UW-Green Bay Alumni Association is hosting a reception event at the Saturday, Jan. 12 Green Bay Men’s Basketball game against UIC.

The night begins at 5:30 p.m. with an exclusive reception in the Oneida Room at the Resch Center. At the reception, there will be great food and drink along with other cool stuff to cheer on the Green Bay Phoenix. The game begins at 7 p.m. There will also be chances to win some fantastic prizes.

Cost is $10 for alumni and $15 for non-alumni guests.
