Meet Kari Heier Moody. Energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about serving the needs of UW-Green Bay alumni. The 2000 graduate became the University’s new Director of Alumni Relations in August. Now she wants to meet you.
In the meantime, here’s a little more about Kari.
UW-Green Bay Associate Prof. Rebecca Meacham leads the next After Thoughtsconversation, with her talk, “Fiction’s Burning Questions: Novelists, History and the Creative Spark.” Meacham’s address will explore how novelists navigate a process she refers to as “slow, directionless and full of wrong turns” — how they create absorbing fiction from the facts of history, and how they imagine the thoughts and passions of characters often left out of the history books.
The After Thoughts series was started in spring 2011 to connect community women with UW-Green Bay, showcase UW-Green Bay’s faculty and staff, convene women after their workday for learning, enrichment and fun, and provide “After Thoughts” to take with them when they leave. The UW-Green Bay Alumni Phone-A-Thon begins September 30. Funds raised from the Phone-A-Thon go to support student scholarships and academic programs on campus. Alumni made a huge impact last year, helping UWGB raise and additional $142,000 in gifts toward the Chernick/Wochinske Challenge. Let’s see what UW-Green Bay alumni can do this year!
UW-Green Bay is launching a new social media engagement program where alumni, students and anyone interested in the University can show their support by engaging on social networks and earning rewards through our new Phoenix Phanatics Rewards program.
Developed in partnership with Lodestone Sports, the leader in social media programs for college sports, fans receive points for participating in social media activities such as ‘liking’ Facebook posts, commenting, sharing, tweeting hashtags, re-tweeting, watching a YouTube video, checking in on Foursquare or Facebook and more.
The UWGB Alums Facebook Page is one of these pages!
The program tracks overall point leaders from all participating UW-Green Bay departments. In addition, fans can sign up for special promotions, coupons or become the Fan of the Week on Facebook pages. This will allow UW-Green Bay to create a unique experience and promotion for each department, drive awareness and reward our fans. There will be grand prizes, giveaways and special fan experiences.
This is just the beginning as participating UW-Green Bay departments will be adding new social platforms and additional ways to earn points and engage. So check it out and start earning rewards today! What a fun and easy way to stay connected to your alma mater!
