Machines make. Humans feel.
AI is fast. Thinking takes time.
We design tools. But do they design us?
The Vitruvian Machine; an AI happening
This is not a lecture. Not a panel. Not a debate. This is a hands-on, think-through-it, make-it-real experiment. The Vitruvian Machine is a one-night happening to make, question, and reclaim creativity in the age of AI.
The Happening:
- AI Prompt Roulette: Participants receive randomized AI-generated prompts but must interpret and adapt them through human craftsmanship.
- Material Stations: Attendees can choose to interact with AI but must leave a human imprint—drawing over, cutting apart, remixing machine outputs.
- Live Prototyping: A collaborative making station where people can add, erase, and debate AI’s role in creativity.
- Theatrical Element: Participants can watch and interact with both human and machine making activities happening in real time via A/V and projection installations in the theatre and lobby
