Register to Attend the 2024 Instructional Development Institute: Thriving in Higher Education (Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024)
UW-Green Bay’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) invites all faculty and staff to attend UWGB’s virtual teaching and learning conference, the Instructional Development Institute (IDI), on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.
The conference theme this year is “Thriving in Higher Education” and will feature keynote speaker, Kevin Gannon, acclaimed educator and author of the book, “Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto.” Gannon’s keynote address, titled “Hopeful Teaching in Less-Than Hopeful Times,” will discuss agency as a foundation for hopeful teaching, and consider the ways in which we might help our students discover, develop, and value their own agency as learners. Gannon will also be leading two follow-up workshops titled “Sustaining Our Students and Ourselves in Online Teaching and Learning” and “(Re) Connecting with Students after ‘Pandemic Pedagogy’.”
In addition to Gannon’s sessions, attendees will also be able to engage with a variety of presentations hosted by UWGB faculty, staff, and community partners. Session topics include open educational resources (OER), generative AI, information literacy, language inclusivity, and more. The conference schedule can be found on the 2024 IDI blog.
Registration is free and open to all educators! For more information, please contact CATL at CATL@uwgb.edu.
