The Society for Information Systems and Business Analytics (SISBA), an officially recognized student organization at UW–Green Bay, continues to empower students through practical learning experiences and professional development opportunities. Under the leadership of President Erin Olson and Vice President Anjaleana Gonzalez, both students in the Business Analytics emphasis at the Cofrin School of Business (CSB), and under the guidance of faculty advisor Dr. Ray Parth of CSB, SISBA organized a series of impactful events during Fall 2025 designed to enhance the skills and career readiness of students in the CSB and the broader UW–Green Bay community.
One of the semester’s highlights was the “Introduction to R Software” workshop, where participants received hands-on training in the fundamentals of using R, an essential tool in business analytics. Led by Erin Olson, the session guided students through interactive exercises that built their confidence and practical skills in data analysis using R software.
Building on that momentum, SISBA also hosted an “Introduction to Databases and SQL” workshop, offering students the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in writing and executing simple SQL queries. At SISBA’s invitation, Dr. Hyeonsik Shin of CSB led the session. Faculty advisor Dr. Ray Parth presided over the event, providing valuable insights and mentorship, while President Erin Olson and Vice President Anjaleana Gonzalez actively participated and supported attendees throughout the session.
Earlier in the fall semester, SISBA participated in the OrgSmorg event, where members engaged with CSB students and shared insights into the fields of business analytics and information systems.
