Welcome to the updated version of the Log blog! Please follow the directions below to ensure that your submission is placed in the next edition of the Log.

As a reminder, faculty and staff are able to submit and publish their news items directly. When content is posted, it will appear in the ‘Log’ e-newsletter within categories such as announcements, faculty/staff, events, etc.

First, please ensure that you are already a blog user, by signing into this link: blog.uwgb.edu/wp-admin If you are NOT a blog user, please contact webdev@uwgb.edu and request access.

After you receive blog access, please click on this link https://blog.uwgb.edu/log/wp-admin/ and sign-in with the “Use My School ID” button and your single sign-in for UW-Green Bay. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to use the new block editor to post your content.

Recently, all WordPress blogs were transitioned to an updated WordPress editor experience that now defaults to the WordPress block editor, replacing the ‘classic editor.’ This way of posting is much more user friendly, and a variety of block editor training resources can be found in the Training Resource section on the Blogs at UW-Green Bay webpage.

We encourage you to simply dive in and use the new ‘block editor’ format. Start by clicking “Add post” under the “Posts” link on the left-hand side of the Log dashboard. You’ll be prompted to add a title, paragraph and much more based on what information you’d like to share.

Once you’ve completed your post, don’t forget to choose the Category: announcements, events or faculty/staff. Choose just ONE category that best fits the post content.

Then, add in your tags. This can be your program area, college or other area of interest within UW-Green Bay.

During the transition to the new format, the accessible content plugin was enabled.  This plugin will help you identify digital accessibility issues with any new posts in your blog.  To learn more about the need to address digital accessibility, go to the Digital Accessibility webpage.

At any time, faculty and staff can email log@uwgb.edu or webdev@uwgb.edu to request updated access, or ask questions about posting. Once you receive access, you will be able to enter information and post your item.

If you have ANY questions, please contact Kristin Bouchard at bouchark@uwgb.edu or Jena Richter Landers at richterj@uwgb.edu. Thank you for sharing your information!

Note the deadline for weekly submissions: submissions published by Monday at 4 p.m. will appear in the next Log e-news; submissions published after that deadline will appear in the following Log e-news.

Thank you!
