Career Planning & Professional Connections to Move

Career Planning and Professional Connections (formerly Career Services) is excited to announce that this month they will be relocating from SS1600 to CL 108.

The new location will provide improved visibility for the wide array of valuable services Career Planning offers to students, employers and faculty members. In this space, Career Planning can easily host engaging employer meet-and-greet sessions, offer distraction-free office space for students to complete virtual, recorded or in-person interviews with area employers, and continue to showcase the exciting variety of programming available throughout the semester.

Since Fall ’23, Career Advisors have been supporting students in specific Colleges from their new office spaces within Academic Buildings. This move has allowed them to build stronger relationships, collaborate more effectively with leaders within the College, faculty members and professional advisors, and help students connect with industry employers in meaningful ways.

The team’s director, Kay Voss, and the office manager, Chris Cox, will be moving into CL 108. Find the Career Advisors for each college in their respective offices, ready to assist students and engage with faculty and staff. The Career Advisors for each college can be found:

Karla Miller – Career Advisor for the College of Science, Engineering and Technology – Environmental Sciences 107
Kendra Lepper – Career Advisor for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences – Mary Ann Cofrin Hall B305
Shawna Keating – Career Advisor for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences – Mary Ann Cofrin Hall B 307
Macey Johnson – Career Advisor for the Cofrin School of Business – Wood Hall 480B
Amy Yang – Career Advisor for the College of Health, Education and Social Welfare and Undecided Students – Rose Hall 310E

The Career Closet will remain in SS 1600 for now, continuing to support students with professional attire. This valuable resource provides the opportunity for students to select professional clothing items at no cost for an upcoming interview, the first few days of starting a new job or internship, a classroom presentation or any other occasion requiring professional attire.

The Closet has no limit to the number of items students can take, and students do not need to return the items. Students can stop in the Career Closet anytime M-F between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
