John Katers – Co-Author on Lithium-ion Battery Waste Management Paper
Nattaya (Toey) Morawan, a doctoral student in civil engineering from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Bangkok, Thailand, recently presented a paper on the “Environmental Impact of Lead-Acid and Lithium-ion Battery Waste Management in Thailand” at the IEEE IAS Industrial and Commercial Power System Asia conference in Pattaya, Thailand. John Katers, Dean of the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology (CSET) was included as a co-author on the paper, as Toey spent the fall of 2023 at UW-Green Bay where he served as her advisor. The paper will also be published in the IEEE database (979-8-3503-5229-0/24/$31.00 @2024 IEEE). Katers has considerable educational and professional expertise in waste management and recycling, including serving on the Brown County Solid Waste Board since 2006 and serving as chair since 2011.
