“Celebrate Nurses” Display Travels to Aurora BayCare Medical Center

After landing in several locations on campus during National Nurses Week, the “Celebrate Nurses” display traveled to Aurora BayCare Medical Center (ABMC) this week. The display celebrates the passion and dedication of nurses and announces that help is on the way (new nursing graduates!). It’s encouraging for nurses working in healthcare to know that new nursing graduates are available to enter the workforce and take on open positions in healthcare settings, especially after a shrinking nursing workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The display showcases photos of UWGB nursing students and cards completed by students about why they chose nursing. One student card, for example, said “I believe that my passion for nursing started when I was 16 and became a CNA …”. Another student said, I had a positive experience with a nurse when I was a child and my dad had colon cancer …”
