Assistant Professor Cheryl Passel’s new article addresses the benefit of being in nature

Cheryl Passel, Assistant Professor in Nursing, co-authored an article titled, “Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing): A Scoping Review of the Global Research on the Effects of Spending Time in Nature”, published in Global Advances in Integrative Medicine and Health. Shinrin-Yoku is a traditional Japanese practice of immersing oneself (or “bathing”) in nature mindfully. The article identified physiological and psychological benefits of being in nature. Dr. Passel is a board certified Advanced Holistic Nurse (AHN).
