Financial and Strategic Assessment begins next week

As you may have read, UW System has contracted and paid for Deloitte to engage with all institutions within the System and perform a Financial and Strategic Assessment.  UW-Green Bay is in the second wave of institutions that will be reviewed and the process for us will begin on December 11.  Consultants from Deloitte will be on campus next week to meet with administrators, governance leaders, and finance staff as an initial step.  The process will take about seven weeks to complete and the work across the UW System is scheduled to conclude in June.

Due to the heightened awareness and sensitivity surrounding university budgets in Wisconsin, we wanted to make sure you were aware this was happening.  It is always good to have a third party examine what you are doing, question it, and provide suggestions on potential opportunities for improvement.  Similar to when we go through accreditation visits, these are opportunities to get advice, receive feedback from a neutral source, and have a list of recommendations for continued improvement that we can consider when the work is done.
