EdD Applied Leadership Degree on the Horizon
The UW-Green Bay Faculty Senate voted to approve a new Education Doctorate (EdD) in Applied Leadership at their November 8th meeting. Subsequent approval by the Provost and Chancellor moved the degree proposal to the UW Board of Regents. It is expected that the degree proposal will be reviewed by the full Board of Regents at their December 8, 2023 meeting and if approved, the degree would begin in fall 2024.
The EdD in Applied Leadership, if approved, would be the second doctoral program at UW-Green Bay. No other UW institution offers an EdD in this curricular area. The 54-credit degree has four areas of coursework: 1) Leadership sequence (leadership core courses), 2) Inquiry sequence (research design and methods courses), 3) Emphasis sequence (courses that fit student professional goals/background), and 4) Application sequence (field-based course, immersive leadership seminar, & dissertation project).
