Assistant Professor of Psychology Dr. Alison Jane Martingano has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP). SPSP is the leading international association for researchers and practitioners who study how people think about, influence, and relate to one another.

Board members help set strategic priorities for the society, support initiatives that translate science for the public, and steward programs that elevate rigorous, ethical research and inclusive training. Dr. Martingano’s term begins January 1, 2026.

At UW-Green Bay, Dr. Martingano’s scholarship explores empathy and emerging technologies (e.g., VR and AI), and she mentors undergraduate researchers across multiple projects. Her election highlights UWGB’s growing national profile in research and student mentorship.

Students and colleagues interested in collaboration, guest lectures, or connecting SPSP resources with courses and labs are welcome to reach out.
