Recent UW-Green Bay Grant Awardees
In recognition of the outstanding achievements of our faculty and researchers whose dedication continues to elevate our university’s reputation in innovation, discovery, and community impact, the Office of Grants and Research celebrates their innovation with announcing the following recent grant awards:
- Emily Tyner (Director of Freshwater Strategy) has received funding from the Oneida Nation to support coordination with the Bay of Green Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR), including costs of staffing, services and goods. This award will help to build and administer programming that will strengthen connections around estuarine waters between the National Estuarine Research Reserves in Wisconsin and Great Lakes Tribal Nations.
- Erin Giese (Associate Director, Cofrin Center for Biodiversity) has received funding from the Onedia Nation to support the Habitat Restoration Program. This award will help to restore and maintain bird habitats on tribal lands and to monitor the restored habitats through a volunteer bird monitoring effort.
- Corinna Heindel (School Social Work Coordinator, Assistant Teaching Professor), received continuing funding from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for the Federal School Based Mental Health professionals program, which will cover tuition scholarships for 15 students.
