Congrats UWGB student, Kevin Brochtrup!

Congratulations to UWGB Supply Chain Management student, Kevin Brochtrup, for being awarded the 2025 ASCM Fox Valley Forum Student Excellence Award in Supply Chain Management!

To qualify for the 2025 Student Excellence Award in Supply Chain Management, students had to participate in the essay competition. All essays were read and rated by the ASCM Fox Valley Forum Board of Directors. For Kevins proposal, he wrote about planning to adapt an AI-driven forecasting tool to enhance purchasing efficiency, motivated by his role at his company. 

Kevin was inspired to pursue a career in supply chain management. He began his education at Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College and later transitioned into roles in Vendor Managed Inventory and procurement, gaining experience in inventory control, forecasting, and supplier collaboration. Now a buyer, he is furthering their expertise through a degree in organizational leadership at UW-Green Bay and has earned a CPIM certification. Throughout the essay he explains the importance of technology in modern supply chains, emphasizing tools like Power BI and AI for improving forecasting, decision-making, and operational transparency. He also addresses the challenge of inventory misalignment, advocating for dynamic forecasting models and stronger interdepartmental collaboration to improve efficiency and stakeholder outcomes.

The award was presented by Jody Suess, CPIM, CIRM, CSCP (President of Fox Valley Forum, ASCM) and Phill Kosik, CPIM, CSCP (Vice President of Finance, ASCM).
