Professor Emeritus Bob Howe and Erin Giese Published in Ecosphere

Professor Emeritus Bob Howe and Erin Giese, Associate Director of the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, were recently published in Ecosphere. Their article, titled “Occurrence patterns and trends of frogs in coastal wetlands of the Great Lakes call for further habitat restoration”, highlights important new findings in anuran ecology within the Great Lakes.

Using 13 years of data from the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program, the authors present the first comprehensive analysis of annual trends and occurrences for eight anuran (frog and toad) species in coastal wetlands across the U.S. and Canada. The research was made possible through the efforts of trained students and staff from multiple universities and organizations, including undergraduate and graduate students from UW–Green Bay.
