Join together in community to honor the late Pope Francis and commemorate the end of Earth Month on May 1, 3:30 to 5:00, at the Mauthe Center. Attendees will have an opportunity to read aloud passages from Pope Francis’s landmark 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home. The complete text is available here, and a selection of excerpts will be provided. A moment of silent reflection will follow the reading of each selected passage. Professor David Voelker (Humanities & History) will facilitate this event. This event is sponsored by the Mauthe Center, and it is free and open to the public.
