Encourage students to register for the WiSys Quick Pitch competition!
WiSys®, the official designated technology transfer office for the Universities of Wisconsin, is partnering with UW-Green Bay and hosting the WiSys Quick Pitch competition featuring students on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 3:30pm as part of the Academic Excellence Symposium.
WiSys Quick Pitch® is a research-focused student pitch competition that inspires Universities of Wisconsin students to consider the impact of their research and learn how to effectively communicate it to a general audience. Participants have three minutes to impress a panel of judges with their ability to explain the value of their research to society. The top presenters win cash prizes and secure a spot in the Quick Pitch State Final.
All different types of research are welcome – various subjects, and everything from in-class projects to faculty mentored research. The point is that students get an opportunity to practice talking about their research to people from different backgrounds. This competition is very beneficial to students by helping them learn how to present their research findings and/or innovative ideas to a wider audience in a ‘jargon free’ and non-technical manner that can be easily understood by a lay person.
This is a great opportunity to highlight student research as part of the Academic Excellence Symposium, so encourage your students to apply! Students can sign up here.
