Celebrating the Chinese New Year with the UWGB Community!

We are thrilled to share that the Chinese Student Club recently hosted a vibrant Spring Festival event to commemorate the Chinese New Year with our UWGB family. This festive occasion was a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the rich traditions and cultural delights of Chinese heritage.

For those who may not be familiar, the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, marks the beginning of the lunar new year according to the traditional Chinese calendar. Each year is associated with one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac, and we are currently ushering in the Year of the Dragon—a symbol of strength, wisdom, and good fortune.

This event not only celebrated the joyous spirit of the Chinese New Year but also served as a platform for sharing cultural customs, delicious foods, and entertaining performances with our diverse UWGB community. It was a true testament to the beauty of cultural exchange and understanding.

Did you know? Approximately 32% of UW Green Bay’s international students hail from China.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Student Club for organizing such a memorable and inclusive celebration. Wishing everyone prosperity, happiness, and success in the Year of the Dragon!
