Exploring Modern Supply Chain Management: A Lecture by Dr. Md Shahidul Islam at UW-Green Bay

Richard J. Resch School of Engineering Professor Dr. Mohammad Upal Mahfuz hosted Cofrin School of Business Assistant Professor Dr. Md Shahidul Islam in an invited speaker talk, entitled “An Introduction to Modern Supply Chain Management.” Although this invited lecture was a part of Dr. Mahfuz’s ET 360 (Project Management) class, this talk was made open to everyone and was attended by many of us in the university community in addition to the students. In this talk, Dr. Md Shahidul Islam presented the state-of-the-art modern supply chain management in this digital transformation era, which was followed by a short presentation on Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and its roles in the aspects of continuous professional development. Dr. Islam is a certified PMP.

Md Shahidul Islam, Ph.D., PMP
Dr. Md Shahidul Islam is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Cofrin School of Business at UW-Green Bay. With a distinguished military career spanning 27 years, Dr. Islam retired as a Colonel in 2019. He commanded 2,500 officers and soldiers within the active force. He made significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions in Sierra Leone and Darfur, Sudan, and was awarded a Force Commander’s commendation for his role in establishing peace in Darfur. His research interests include methodology, brand marketing, counterfeiting, and supply chain sustainability. He has published papers in the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice and in marketing conference proceedings.
