CHESW and Education Department EDI Speaker Series – February 5, 2024

Join us for the next event in the Education Department EDI Speaker Series! Kelly D. Holstine, 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year, will be on campus to discuss advocacy in schools. There will be two events:

3:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. in Wood Hall 213: Join Kelly for an open Q&A on how to be an advocate for LGBTQ+ students in K-12 schools

5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Wood Hall 117: Kelly will lead an event titled Equity 2.0.

• Human beings who feel seen, safe, respected, valued, and celebrated are the ones who will thrive. Kelly D. Holstine will discuss the difference between Equality vs. Equity 2.0, share personal stories, and give concrete strategies on how to increase Equity 2.0 Advocacy. This needs-based presentation is rooted in Equity 2.0; participants will help determine what topics are discussed and will have multiple opportunities to reflect and grow.
