The Differences Explained
LLI has a new option for attending classes. It’s called live streaming. We select scheduled classes and set up a Zoom connection that broadcasts the class to members’ computers for those who would like to attend from their own home. We’ve tested the process, and it works very well.
We had cameras and microphones installed in both classrooms (Rose Hall 220 and Rose Hall 230). This will facilitate the broadcast of the class during its original live presentation. We’ve also installed a second monitor in our two classrooms. The second monitor will allow the Class Coordinator to monitor members who are connected to the Zoom/live streaming class session. We are working on getting Coordinators trained to communicate questions, etc., during classes. This will be an improvement that will be added in the future.
Members can join a live broadcast by signing up for the class in the next registration. Not all classes will be available using this option, but many live-streamed classes will be offered for the Spring 2026 semester. So, if the in-person class is full, you can select the live-stream version and enjoy the class. Since there is no limit to the number of members using the live-streamed option, many more members should be able to attend more classes that fill up early. Members who utilize the live-streamed option must keep their mics muted. Future updates will further explain this evolving technology option.
