Pa Lee Moua is the first full-time Executive Director of the Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership
Pa Lee Moua, Ph.D., is the first full-time Executive Director of the Schreiber Institute for Women’s leadership. She is a proud alumnae of the Universities of Wisconsin and has worked at multiple higher education institutions including Fox Valley Technical College, UW Fox Valley (currently UW-Oshkosh), Lawrence University, and now the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Dr. Moua was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and came to the United States in 1984. She was five years old. Her family arrived in California and later relocated to Wisconsin to be closer to immediate family. Currently, Pa Lee lives in Appleton with her husband and four children.
Pa Lee’s background reflects her passion and philosophy on leadership. She believes that everyone has leadership capabilities. However, not everyone is given the same opportunity to lead. “I am extremely excited to take on this new role and work alongside many influential women who continue to support and elevate other women,” says Moua. “To me, leadership is not only about impact by transformational changes that inspire, empower and enhance the narrative of leadership, but also about including more women who look like me.”
Dr. Moua has earned numerous awards and recognition including acknowledgement from Madison 365 in 2020, as one of the 48th most influential Asian Americans in Wisconsin, the 2020 MLK Educator Award, and the 2019 Authentic Leadership Award at the Hmong Women Summit. She also serves on multiple community boards, including the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, the Hmong Immersion School and the Mielke Grants Committee. Outside of her professional career, Dr. Moua enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking and creating floral bouquets.
