Dr. Fogaca will be starting a new research project on the topic of teaching life skills through sports in the Fall of 2018. She will be looking for 2-4 research assistants, depending on how many credits they are interested in taking. Students interested in taking 1 credit will focus on literature review-related tasks. Students taking 2-3 credits will also be expected to be present in a weekly RA meeting and participate of the design of a pilot program. Students taking 2-3 credits will have opportunity to present in conferences, if they desire to do so.
Applicants are expected to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (if it’s slightly less this may be up to discussion) and have completed a Research Methods course. Completion of the CITI training is mandatory. Online students applications are also welcome. Preference may be given to students interested in working in the Spring 2019 as well.
You are required to put 3 hours/week per credit in this course. There are no exams, but you will write a paper at the end of the semester, and you will receive a grade for this course.
Research assistantship (either HUM DEV496 or PSYCH 496) is highly recommended for your major, but does not count toward major requirements. For more information about research assistantship in general, see here http://www.uwgb.edu/human-development/internships/options/
If you’re interested in this opportunity, please email your unofficial transcript of records and a paragraph explaining your interest in this course to Dr. Fogaca (firstname.lastname@example.org) by April 13. We will have an interview after that.
If you have any questions feel free to let me know. Thank you for your interest!
