This position reports to the University Archivist and supports the University Archives and Area Research Center by providing: research services to patrons and assisting in the management of the Archives departmental operations. This position will contribute to various aspects of tasks associated with the access and management of the archival collections. In addition, this position will assist the University Archivist in developing departmental procedures as well as providing support for department outreach initiatives. In the absence of the Archivist, this position will assume responsibility for the welfare and operations of the Archives and Area Research Center. In carrying out these duties, the employee works with a great deal of independence and must apply archival and research expertise and judgment to a wide range of circumstances and situations. The Archives is a high energy and busy customer service department in which the employee will provide services to many campus departments as well as the greater community.
