All employees who took the training prior to August 20, 2018, will be required to re-complete the Checkpoint: Data Security & Privacy online training by November 11, 2018. Anyone who started employment after October 8, 2018, and from here on out, will have 30 days to complete the training, which includes student employees.
This training will provide employees with best practices on their role in protecting the University’s systems and data and information on how to recognize the methods employed by hackers. The training will also provide information related to the UW System information technology acceptable use policies. Training will take approximately ninety minutes and is self-paced, allowing you to come and go as you please until course completion.
Once the training is complete, there is no need to notify HR or provide anyone with the optional printable certificate. Completion information is tracked within the system.
