In this session, Peter McMahon, CEO of Shopko Stores Operating Company, LLC will describe how he approached the organization’s need for change to create this rapid growth story.

Peter McMahon CEO Shopko Peter McMahon is the chief executive officer of Shopko Stores Operating Company, LLC.   Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Green Bay, Shopko Stores is a $3 billion retailer that operates 327 stores in 24 states throughout the Midwest, Mountain, North Central and Pacific Northwest regions. With four decades of distinguished experience in the retail sector, Peter has a proven track record of delivering on objectives, exceeding expectations and leading organizations with a complex array of programs with the ability to leverage strengths in their business units. He started as a junior assistant and rapidly advanced to manager and beyond due to his hard work and ability to motivate others. He has held a variety of executive and senior positions with global retailers including chief operating officer of Loblaw, Canada’s largest food retailer and a leading provider of drugstore, general merchandise and financial products and services, and a member of the executive management team of Wal-Mart Inc., Germany and Japan. From the United Kingdom, Peter was born in Liverpool, Merseyside and holds a degree in economics from the University of Liverpool. Peter is also a naturalized citizen of Canada, where he lived and worked prior to joining Shopko Stores. Peter and his wife Leila now reside in Green Bay and recently added a Welsh Springer Spaniel named Riley to their family.
