CTEC Construction Timeline & Project Overview
Construction of the new Cofrin Technology and Education Center (CTEC) at UW-Green Bay will begin in Spring 2025, with completion expected by Fall 2027. The building will be located at the front entrance of campus, replacing the lawn and boulevard area along Main Entrance Drive.
The project includes the following key phases:
- Phase 1a (Spring 2025): Construction begins. Campus access remains open with some traffic rerouting near Main Entrance Drive.
- Phase 1b (Early Spring 2027): Once the building is complete (after ~20–22 months), fencing will expand briefly to allow final site restoration.
- Phase 2 (Spring–Fall 2027): Demolition of the existing Cofrin Library begins, including removal of connecting corridors and utility rerouting.
- Project Completion (Fall 2027): Site work wraps up, creating a more open and accessible campus center. Landscaping will reflect the original Cofrin Library footprint.
The CTEC will house student, faculty, and community spaces, with design elements honoring the region’s natural environment and Indigenous heritage.
