Living It Up in the Dorms

Dorm life can look different for many people. For me, living in the dorm has some cons. One con of living in the dorms is the beds. When I am here, I struggle to fall asleep. I have tried to make my little twin as comfortable as possible, but it just is not good enough. I have put a mattress topper and memory foam on the mattress to try and help. I also have very nice sheets, pillows, and a comforter, I still could not get comfortable. For some reason, I can never fall asleep before three o’clock in the morning. Another con to living in the dorms is how hot the rooms are. The first few weeks when it was eighty degrees out, I hardly got any sleep. I was also sweating trying to do homework even late in the night. To try and beat the heat I would take cold showers. I felt good right away, but it slowly got uncomfortable the longer you showered because I got too cold.

Although living in the dorms may come with some cons, there are also many positives. One positive of living in the dorms is the ability to spend a lot of time with friends. My college roommate is my best friend from high school. It has made settling into college easier. We have also met a couple of buddies Dev and Bindi who are also best friends from high school. Another positive of living in the dorms in a sense of freedom. I have the ability to do whatever I want when I want to. I  can also learn many life skills like                      Picture Source: Gitmind                                       doing my own laundry, dishes, and                                                                                 cleaning.
