Better Than I Thought

I had many expectations about what college life was going to be like, I would be doing homework all the time, staying up until all hours of the night to study but it is not like that. After being here for a month I have come to find out that there is lots of homework to do but I am not having to stay up all night to get my homework done. Time management skills have come in very handy when working on homework because I can determine which assignment I should do first. I have also learned that if I start studying earlier instead of a few days before the test I won’t have to stay up until the odd hours of the night. I learned that the hard way by staying up studying for my math midterm. Thankfully I passed the test, but I know for next time to start studying earlier.

Another expectation that I had for college was that I wouldn’t have a lot of free time to hang out with friends or just relax in my dorm. It is the complete opposite. When I’m not working on homework or studying, I hang out with my new friends that I met. I also had the expectation that I was going to meet so many new people and become friends with all of them. I have met a lot of new people, but I haven’t become good friends with all of them. I mainly just hang out with the same three people and sometimes a few other friends. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my roommate in our dorm and watch TV together. It is my favorite way to relax at the end of a long day or a long week. Overall things are better than I thought they would be.
