Online Classes: Yes or No?

Online Classes: Yes or No?

Online classes can be a tempting option for commuter students, but is it always a good idea? The answer isn’t a clear yes or no since there’s many things to consider. First and foremost, do not take math classes online. It just doesn’t work. It is simply too complex of a subject to learn online so don’t even think about it because you will fail it 100%. Secondly, consider the professor. If you haven’t looked up the professor in ratemyprofessor.com, do it now. Some professors are well seasoned in teaching virtually and some aren’t. Some teachers will post an exam due that day without warning, and some won’t. The last thing to consider is yourself. Do you fully trust yourself to stay on track, do assignments on time, and reach out for help if you need it? These are all things you’ll have to master in order to do well as it’s extremely easy to fall behind.

If you’re not taking a math class, and the professor knows what they’re doing, then go for it! Online classes are generally much more flexible than in person classes, and if you know how to manage your time, you should be just fine. Plus online classes save you a lot of gas money.
