After graduating high school, there are a handful of people who are so excited to start their next journey in college. However, there are also a handful of people who are not excited to go to school again, so they chose to go a different route. For me, I am not one or the other. I am both. I was not excited to go to college, but I had no idea what else I would do, so I decided to go. I am not a big fan of having to get up and go to school. I do not like having to take tests, study, worry about homework, and be away from home. I also did not want to go because I was scared to go all by myself to a new classroom with new teachers. I was also scared to live away from home without my family and friends. I just had no idea what else I would have done.
However, I was wrong about what I thought it would be like. On the first day of classes I almost did not get out of bed because I was so scared to go on my own. I am not going to lie. The first two weeks of college were pretty rough for me. I do not have extremely hard classes, I am not completely overwhelmed by the amount of homework I get, and going to classes on my own was not that bad. I do have a lot of freedom and free time to do so much stuff, unlike high school. But in high school I had my best friends with me 24/7. But when I really think about it, the expectation of what I thought college was going to be like for me was completely different from the reality of it. Even though I still am not the biggest fan of college because I am back to worrying about tests and homework, it is not as bad as I thought.
