Provost Search

Dear UW-Green Bay Faculty and Staff,

As I communicated in November, we will begin a national search for a permanent Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.  I have asked shared governance groups to put forward members for the search committee.  The committee has been selected and is listed below.  The committee will meet tomorrow for the first time and will follow an aggressive timeline to complete the search as soon as possible in the fall.

This is obviously a very important search for UW-Green Bay.  The Provost works with every part of our University, is the chief academic officer for the institution, represents us publicly and with the UW System, and is a key member of the Cabinet.  This hire is crucial to keep UW-Green Bay on the positive trajectory it is currently experiencing.  We have the right group of leaders on this committee that will help us ensure a successful process and outcome to the search.

I want to thank Sheryl Van Gruensven, who has agreed to chair the search.  Not only does Sheryl work closely with the Provost in her position, but she is also a lead voice in guiding our institutional strategy.  We are also fortunate to have Greenwood/Asher as the search firm assisting us on this search.
