1. When will you graduate?
December 2018

2. What are your career plans?
I want to become a mental health counselor. I feel strongly about the stigma around mental illness, so I want to break that stigma by educating the public and helping those who are suffering from a mental illness.

3. Why did you major in psychology?
Originally I wanted to become a physical therapist, but after taking a college biology class I realized it wasn’t for me, but I still wanted to help people in more of a medical setting, so I thought psychology would be a good fit for me. Looking back I’m so glad I decided to change majors and chose psychology as my major!

4. What do you do for fun?
I love the outdoors, so for fun I like to go hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing, and in the warmer months I like to take my kayak out and go kayaking. I also enjoy writing, baking, going to watch our school’s basketball games, and spending time with friends and family.

5. What academic experience or accomplishment are you most proud of?
It’s not exactly an academic accomplishment, but I’m really proud of myself for getting an internship at the sexual assault center. I just started, but I think it’s going to be great experience for my future career path. I’m also really proud of going on the South Africa trip this past January because it allowed me to worldview.

6. What’s your favorite movie, book, and TV show related to psychology?
When it was airing I loved to watch House. I enjoyed the biological side of it, but I was also really interested in the psychological issues that went on in the show.

7. What single thing do you hope to accomplish at UWGB before graduating?
I hope to get into a graduate program before I graduate.

8. What else do you want people to know about you?
I have 2 cats named Mitterz and Squeaks and they’re both rescues. We got Mitterz as a kitten and this year he’s going to be 14. We got Squeaks a little over a year ago and she’s 4. They’re both my babies!
