Book discussion: “Big magic: Creative living beyond fear” (Elizabeth Gilbert)

bigmagic“Gilbert [writes] with sincerity and humility about the joy that creativity has given her…. If you enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love, if you are drawn to self-help or inspirational books, or if you just like to bask in another person’s positive glow, you’ll love Big Magic.” –Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Register to receive a free copy of the book and join our discussion.  Refreshments provided.

OrgSmorg is a student organizations fair.  It’s a great way to get acquainted with students from UWGB’s  student organizations.  There are over 130 student organizations, so there is something for everyone.  And, it is easy to start your own student organization too— just in case you don’t see something that you’d like (Student Life staff will be happy to help you with that).

OrgSmorg is fun, free, and low-key.  There will also be giveaways and usually some free snacks too!

Come meet some cool people and join the fun!

University Leadership Awards ceremony and reception

UWGB recognizes students who have been involved, achieved academic success, and contributed to the campus community and beyond. Students are nominated for the University Leadership Award and Chancellor’s Leadership Medallion.

Book Discussion: “When breath becomes air” (Paul Kalanithi)

whenbreathThis #1 New York Times best-seller is a profoundly moving, exquisitely observed memoir by a young neurosurgeon faced with a terminal cancer diagnosis who attempts to answer the question: What makes a life worth living? Intergenerational series: Bridging the gap between young and old (small-group discussions)

Join us for this very special annual tradition: an open conversation between students and retirees. Discuss life, love, learning, and whatever is on your mind. We move past age-based myths and stereotypes to discover what young and old adults can learn from each other. Sponsored by Student Life, Human Development, and Learning in Retirement.
