Emerging Leadership Experience (ELE)

Beginning its 7th year, this annual first-year student overnight retreat is designed to help students develop confidence and increase their involvement on campus. Students are nominated and submit an application. The trip is led by ELE alums and a UWGB staff member and takes place at the Team Leadership Center and Sand Bay Lodge in Sturgeon Bay. Participants take the StrengthsQuest assessment. Transportation, meals, and lodging is provided. ” A former participant said, “I learned how to work as a strong, dynamic group–how to work as a team. I also learned that it is easy to make new friends.” The group returns to campus at noon on Sunday, March 6. Sponsored by Student Life.

Intergenerational series: Bridging the gap between young and old (small-group discussions)

Join us for this very special annual tradition: an open conversation between students and retirees. Discuss life, love, learning, and whatever is on your mind. We move past age-based myths and stereotypes to discover what young and old adults can learn from each other. Sponsored by Student Life, Human Development, and Learning in Retirement.

Intergenerational series: Bridging the gap between young and old (panel presentation)

Do you think you understand how the “older generation” ticks? Think again. A panel of retirees will share their perspectives on family, money, lifelong learning, and whatever you care to ask them. You’ll definitely laugh, you’ll probably be surprised, and you may even be inspired to rethink your own life. Sponsored by Student Life, Human Development, and Learning in Retirement.
