Submission Guidelines

Because we are a student-run publication, our reading periods run from September to December and from January to April. Stay connected with our social media pages or check our submit page often so you don’t miss our submission window!

Specific Genre Guidelines are listed below.

**If you are a student or alumnus of UW-Green Bay, please remove your name from your submission.  If you are a current student please apply in the designated UWGB Student Categories.** (This helps us keep our  “blind” submission review process as fair as possible.)

Genre Guidelines

  • Nonfiction

Size limit: 5000 words We welcome all nonfiction pieces. Many people believe nonfiction is memoirs or stiff academic writing, but we encourage all varieties of nonfiction. This includes political works, fact based arguments, opinion pieces, essays written for a general audience, true life stories, interviews, profiles, and book reviews.

**If you are a student or alumnus of UW-Green Bay, please remove your name from your submission.**

  • Fiction

Size limit: 5000 words We enjoy original fiction pieces of all varieties. Please keep your submission to 5000 words or less.

**If you are a student or alumnus of UW-Green Bay, please remove your name from your submission.**

  • Poetry

We enjoy reading poems that are unique and have original perspectives and complexity. We’re looking for pieces with depth, vivid imagery, cleverness, and even multiple meanings. We accept and encourage all subject matters.

Please upload each poem as a separate submission. This helps us stay organized!

**If you are a student or alumnus of UW-Green Bay, please remove your name from your submission.**

  • Visual Arts

We enjoy unique pieces in many different mediums.

Please submit well-documented pieces and photographs (taking into account cropping, lighting, and angles of images showcasing your art). Size specifications: 2 MB minimum, minimum of 300 dpi, and at least 5″x7″.

If your piece does not have a title, please follow this model: “Untitled_SubmissionDate”. If you have multiple pieces that are untitled that are part of a group, number each of them sequentially. (Example: Untitled_1of5, Untitled_2of5, Untitled_3of5…) However, we do strongly suggest that pieces are titled or at least catalog numbered for a more efficient review process.

Please include your medium information in the cover letter for your piece. This helps with the reviewing process as all visual arts submissions are viewed digitally.
