I hope you’re all having a great summer and are getting ready for fall. I just wanted to inform (or remind) you that as of July 1st, the UWGB U-Pass program is up-and-running!
All you need for free access to all GB Transit bus routes is your UWGB ID card. Yes, it is that easy! All you have to do is show the bus driver your UWGB ID card and you can ride any bus, on any route, at any scheduled time for absolutely free. This includes all students, faculty, and staff with a UWGB ID. In the first week alone, GB Transit reported 274 UWGB riders utilizing the U-Pass.
Whether you’re looking to save money on gas, be friendlier to the environment, or just looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, riding the bus is a great option for all of us. So keep it up, UWGB! I look forward to seeing you on the bus!
I was very happy to hear about the U-Pass program over the summer, especially since my roommates and I had decided to move off campus. We’d planned on riding the bus every day, thereby saving on gas and the amount of time it takes to find a parking spot, only using our cars when doing something on our own time. Unfortunately, due to the inconsistency with the transit system, this option has not been available.
As I understand it, the buses are supposed to arrive every half hour. However, one morning, we waited an extra fifteen minutes for the bus to arrive, and in the evening, we waited over an hour.
I do think the U-Pass program is a wonderful investment, but we cannot partake if the transit system lacks punctuality.
