Morning everyone! I’m here to post the good news about Conservation Lobby Day!
Everything is set to go for Wednesday, January 30, 2008! Environmental Affairs Secretary Crystal Osman has been working very hard to organize the 14 of us going! We will be citizen lobbyists to a day! I am pumped to tell our legislators to improve our Wisconsin environment by keeping our Great Lakes water here and passing the Safe Climate Act, as well as restoring conservation integrity. UWGB SGA should feel very proud to be fighting for these noble causes, not to mention Dave Hansen loves to see his own alma mater down in Madison! For all of you going, please check your email for times and such, but we will be leaving early Wednesday morning and arriving back at school in the evening. Be prepared for a fast paced day of Congressional action! See you all there! Contact myself or Crystal with any questions
Why aren’t the union restaurants up and running? They were originally scheduled for opening in late November and it looks like we won’t see anything promising this semester. What is being done about this for the students who have limited dining options and are unhappy with the current choices?
Why is SGA trying to get Pod casts for classes, when they should be pushing for more class sections, more diverse classes and better options for signing up for classes? So many students complain about the lack of availability of courses, the selection and the waiting time in SIS while registering.
If SGA is so concerned about getting student input and really understanding the scope of what the students want, I would highly encourage a more active pursuit to gain that knowledge. I have only seen articles in the paper and one lousy poster for a forum.
Personally, it seems as if SGA likes to talk up a lot of “fluff” in newspaper, but has no action to back it up. Good luck with the semester!
Sara…you rock! Love ya. Great blog too!
