Not only are SUFAC minutes conveniently missing from the SGA website, there appears to be no audio or tape recording of SUFAC's deliberations throughout the year. It seems that the Student Court's recommendations in BSU v. SUFAC were not only tossed aside but blatantly disregarded. This is a grave disservice to all student organizations, especially those orgs that have struggled to gain funding. The evolving acidic nature of SUFAC, in particular the Chair, is unnecessary and remains unaddressed. As a natural result, there are several orgs already discussing appeal options. With a topic as controversial as seg fees, it seems apparent that SGA has, once again, dropped the ball. Clearly, a change in leadership is needed in SUFAC and SGA. A small group of attentive students will continue to monitor the SGA website for updated SUFAC minutes and if need be, lobby Student Senators for the removal of the SUFAC Chair and Vice Chair. It is extremely disappointing to observe no change on this front. We encourage those fervent student's within SGA to continue to make strides which reform the allocation of seg fees and to respectfully confront those leaders with large egos and petty agendas. We'd planned on riding the bus every day, thereby saving on gas and the amount of time it takes to find a parking spot, only using our cars when doing something on our own time. Unfortunately, due to the inconsistency with the transit system, this option has not been available. As I understand it, the buses are supposed to arrive every half hour. However, one morning, we waited an extra fifteen minutes for the bus to arrive, and in the evening, we waited over an hour. I do think the U-Pass program is a wonderful investment, but we cannot partake if the transit system lacks punctuality. They were originally scheduled for opening in late November and it looks like we won't see anything promising this semester. What is being done about this for the students who have limited dining options and are unhappy with the current choices? Why is SGA trying to get Pod casts for classes, when they should be pushing for more class sections, more diverse classes and better options for signing up for classes? So many students complain about the lack of availability of courses, the selection and the waiting time in SIS while registering. If SGA is so concerned about getting student input and really understanding the scope of what the students want, I would highly encourage a more active pursuit to gain that knowledge. I have only seen articles in the paper and one lousy poster for a forum. Personally, it seems as if SGA likes to talk up a lot of "fluff" in newspaper, but has no action to back it up.
