Our own Marleigh Fiedler will be traveling to Washington DC on February 10-17, 2014 to participate in Habitat on the Hill, a legislative conference sponsored by Habitat for Humanity International. Mike Stearney, campus advisor for H4H, shares this with us:
“The conference presents an amazing opportunity for Marleigh to engage in education, lobbying and advocacy around the issue of affordable housing for low income citizens.

Marleigh has participated in Habitat for Humanity here at UWGB since her freshman year. She has participated in three winter break service learning trips and is currently an officer of the student organization. She was part of a small team of students that completely organized and led the most recent trip to Raleigh, NC the first week of January 2014. Her commitment to this organization and this cause is deep and sincere.

Marleigh is one of only 15 students from across the nation that was given a scholarship to attend this conference. Marleigh is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Public Administration.”

We are all very proud of Marleigh and hopeful that this is just the beginning of a wonderful career ahead!
