Professor Mike Kraft’s new book features contributions from several scholars with links to Political Science department

From UW-GB LOG Newsletter:” Oxford University Press has just released the latest book by Michael E. Kraft, professor emeritus of Political Science and Public and Environmental Affairs. The 792-page hardcover text is The Oxford Handbook of U.S. Environmental Policy. It is co-edited by Sheldon Kamieniecki, dean of the division of social sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Current and former UW-Green Bay faculty members contributed material, with Dean Scott Furlong collaborating with former PEA colleague Sara Rinfret on one chapter, and former Prof. Denise Scheberle contributing another. Kraft says the book is intended, in part, to alert those entering the field to the most important topics that have been addressed, the most significant scholarship that has been produced, and the priorities for future research in a field has grown substantially from its beginnings in the late 1960s. With the expansion of government policies in the 1960s and 1970s and increasing interest in contemporary environmental challenges, political scientists and policy scholars have greatly expanded the scope and sophistication of research, but there was until now no single volume, encyclopedia, or edited collection that authoritatively brings together this information. While the book is in hardcover initially, a paperback edition will following in a year.
