Psychology and Human Development (P/HD) Club: A Message from the President, Taylor Saari

P/HD Club is looking for passionate and committed students who would like to apply to be officers next academic year 2014-2015!! All positions are open, and we will be voting at our next meeting, April 7th at 4pm.

Also, if you are still interested in joining the club research team, please contact Katy Doll at dollkv25@uwgb.edu. The team meets every other Wednesday in MAC 301 (Vista Room) from 11-12. Topic of interest is connection and engagement within the Psychology Department and the student population.

Upcoming Events:

  • Next meeting is MONDAY, APRIL 7 at 4pm in the Gathering Room (MAC 201). We will be having elections for next year’s officers.  Send a description about yourself to Taylor Saari (saartm19@uwgb.edu) if interested in running.
  • Collaborating with NAMI to have a movie presentation THURSDAY APRIL 17th at 6pm in MAC 204. Movie is Call Me Crazy and is a Lifetime Movie about living with mental illnesses in a modern society.

Friday, November 22nd Anti-Bullying Program is looking for volunteers to help put on a skit and run activities with 3rd-5th graders from a local elementary school. She is in need of 25-30 volunteers. It will be located here at the Mauthe Center on campus. The time frame will be decided soon, but if you are interested please contact Stephanie Nemec at snemec@mcenter.org or nemesn02@uwgb.edu.

My future career goals are to eventually attend medical school to earn my MD and possibly my PhD and to earn my license to practice neurosurgery.

I love to lift weights and I am currently training in Brazilian jujitsu, judo, and kickboxing.

I would like to earn my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in human sexuality. My career goals are to start my own practice, conduct research in Europe, and create free classes for individuals on sex education.

I am an avid baker and chef. I would love to go to culinary school for fun, and hopefully someday I will be able to.

PHD Club is a student organization here on campus designed to bring together students who are majoring or minoring in psychology or human development but can also extend to those who are just interested in the events! We have a host of fun events planned for the coming semester.
