The 2007 Steps to Make a Difference was without a doubt a success, as $15,000 was raised to support six nonprofit organizations. These organizations were A.L.S. Therapy Development Institute, N.E.W. Community Shelter, N.E.W. Community Clinic, Baird Creek Preservation Foundation, Freedom House, and Desert Vets.  Organized by the UWGB Civics Club, the fifth annual walk took place on October 20th.  Steve Kagen, Wisconsin 8th District representative at the time, both welcomed walkers and lead them to the beginning of the trail.  Another special facet of the event was the raffle that included a signed photo of Brett Favre and a football autographed by the 2006 Packers.  The success of the walk was in part due to the support of their sponsors: UW-Green Bay Office of Student Life, Good Times Programming, the Residence Hall and Apartment Association, the Student Government Association, UW-Green Bay Public and Environmental Affairs academic unit, the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, Schreiber Foods, NBC 26 and Sodexho.
