Get ready for the stress of finals by learning a basic Qi Gong routine on Friday December 7th from 11a.m. until noon on the 4th floor of the Cofrin Library. Qi Gong is a Chinese practice of rhythmic breathing combined with slow fluid methods to develop a calm mind and renewed energy. Qi Gong can be practiced by individuals no matter what their current fitness level may be. The session will be led by Debra Strelka, who holds a 5th degree black belt in karate and has practiced Qi Gong for 15 years. Please wear comfortable clothing.

As UWGB embarks on 360° of Learning, Cofrin Library begins 360° of Books!
We have a simple question: What’s your favorite book?
Our goal is to get 360 UWGB students, faculty, staff, and alumni to tell us their favorites. It could be something from your childhood, your most influential book, or something you’re reading now. We’ll share the results and see which books come out on top!
To tell us your favorite book:
- Watch for announcements and post your favorite book on the Cofrin Library Facebook page.
- Follow @CofrinLibraryGB for announcements on Twitter and tweet your favorite book with #360booksuwgb.
- Stop by the library and write it down on our display on the 5th floor.
- Or use this online form to tell us your favorite.

Sale carts will be located on the Plaza Level of the Cofrin Library. “Shop early and often for the best selection! Even if you can’t make it until half-way through, you’re bound to find a gem!” For more information, contact Leah Liebergen at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Lots of changes at Cofrin Library in the past year – new equipment, new resources, new staff – it’s hard to keep up! With that in mind, we’re having a party! All faculty and staff are invited to a Library Open House – An Afternoon of Desserts and Snacks at the Library – on Wednesday, August 29 from Noon-1pm on the 4th floor of Cofrin Library.
Whether it’s popular reading or research materials, new databases, or equipment like iPads and digital cameras, come learn more about the vast services, resources, and spaces for faculty, staff, and students.
You will have the opportunity to meet with staff from around the Library as we show you how each department contributes to making research easier for you as well as your students. Besides research, we also have exciting spaces to accommodate a variety of faculty, staff, and student needs.
Need further incentive? Besides desserts and snacks, all faculty and staff who attend will be entered to win door prizes! In addition, faculty members will have the opportunity to apply for a research fellowship: The Council of UW Libraries has established The University of Wisconsin Research Network, an annual program that offers access to UW-Madison’s electronic collections for selected faculty across the UW System. Cofrin Library will select 8 faculty members who attend this event to participate in the research program. Recipients will be given access to the vast electronic resources available through UW Madison for the period of one academic year.
Starting Monday May 7th the Cofrin Library will offer the following finals week stress reducing activities:
Soar your cares away with personal bubbles.
Color your tension away with coloring pages.
Munch your anxiety away with free bubble gum.
Pop your stress away with bubble wrap.
Good luck on final exams!
