Phoenix teams win hoops openers
The UW-Green Bay men’s and women’s basketball squad opened their seasons Saturday with exhibition wins over Minnesota-Duluth and St. Norbert College, respectively. The women’s squad dispatched St. Norbert 78-49 at the Kress Events Center. Meanwhile, junior point guard Ramon Fletcher led the men’s squad to a 77-52 victory at the Resch Center. Both squads wrap up their exhibition schedule next Saturday at the Kress. The women will take on UW-Parkside at noon, while the men will play St. Norbert College at 7:30 p.m. It will be the first-ever game at the Kress for the men’s squad.
