UW-Green Bay, French school partner on Master’s of Management degrees

GREEN BAY — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the BEM Bordeaux Management School in Bordeaux, France, have established a Degree Program Partnership at the master’s level that allows for the transfer of credits between schools.

Starting in the fall 2009 semester, participating students from either school will enroll in a minimum of 15 credits at UW-Green Bay. During the following semester, spring 2010, students will complete the equivalent of 15 credits in Bordeaux. Those credits will be accepted as transfer credits in the Master’s of Management program at UW-Green Bay.

Students can then complete their degree during the following fall semester, either at UW-Green Bay, BEM Bordeaux Management School or both. Students enrolled in the Degree Program Partnership can expect to complete the degree in 17 months.

“This international partnership, a first of its kind in Northeastern Wisconsin and one of the first such programs in the UW System, will enable our graduate students and graduate students from overseas the chance to enrich their learning by studying abroad,” said Prof. Meir Russ, Management. “We’re excited to offer this opportunity for American and international students with our partners at the highly-regarded BEM Bordeaux Management School.”

American students enrolled in the first semester of the program will pay UW-Green Bay’s graduate tuition fees at either the in-state or out-of-state resident levels, depending on residency status. Tuition for the second semester at BEM is expected to be no more than $10,000 (U.S.). The tuition for the third semester in the following fall for students completing coursework at UW-Green Bay will be covered by the tuition paid in the first semester.

The program is designed for full-time students, who should enter the program with an undergraduate competency level in management, marketing, finance, accounting and statistics. Students can demonstrate their competency by completing undergraduate or foundation courses in these five areas or passing competency exams. GMAT or GRE test scores can also be used to show competency.
