Reception will honor ‘Food Issues’ authors
faculty, Public and Environmental Affairs, Social Change and Development
Following UW-Green Bay’s Center for Food in Community and Culture panel discussion on Nov. 19, all are welcome to a reception with (presumably healthy) refreshments, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the MAC Hall Wintergarden. The event recognizes faculty members who contributed to an interdisciplinary publication by the Center for Food in Community and Culture.
There will be a brief presentation by the editors about the work of the Center, and of the two-volume collection Critical Food Issues: Problems and State-of-the-Art Solutions, new this fall from Praeger Publishing. Volume One, edited by Laurel Phoenix, (Public and Environmental Affairs) has fifteen chapters focused on Environment, Agriculture, and Health; Volume Two, edited by Lynn Walter (Social Change and Development), has sixteen chapters focused on Society, Culture, and Ethics. Phoenix and Walter also contributed chapters to the project, as did faculty members from across campus including Joanne Gardner, Regan A.R. Gurung, Aeron Haynie, Vicki Medland, Debra Pearson, Larry Smith, Sandra Stokes and Cheryl Kalny. Read more on the publication.
