Carmichael returns to UW-Green Bay as Assistant Chancellor

A well-known civic leader with extensive ties to the Green Bay area is the new Assistant Chancellor for University Advancement at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Beverly Carmichael will begin her new position July 15, 2010. She will oversee the University’s fundraising, alumni, marketing and communications functions. Carmichael worked in the same position at UW-Green Bay on an interim basis in late 2000 and early 2001.

Carmichael has an extensive fundraising background. She spent the last five years as a partner and fundraising consultant with The Winston Group in Green Bay. Before that, she served as the director of corporate relations at St. Norbert College in De Pere and as the director of development at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. She began her professional career as a third-grade teacher in Florida.

Carmichael is an active volunteer in the Green Bay area. She is currently a member of the UW-Green Bay Founders Association, the Community Partnership for Children, the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, the Encompass Early Education and Care Foundation and several other organizations.

The new Assistant Chancellor holds a doctoral degree and a master’s degree from The George Washington University, Washington D.C. and a bachelor’s degree from Flagler College.
